On 21st of January our Junior Camogie team played Colaiste Luimnigh in the Munster Semi-Final, in Rathkeale. After a brilliant game, SMI came out well on top, and were through to the Munster final the following week.
The team consisted of 23 players 1.Ellie Quinlivan, 2.Rebecca Cremin, 3.Molly Murphy, 4.Sophie Bourke, 5.Meabh Kelly, 6.Ava Baynham, 7.Eimear Dore, 8.Clodagh O’Keefe, 9.Lilly Duggan (0:02), 10.Makayla Ring, 11.Caoimhe Smith (Captain, 1:01), 12.Donna Kenny (1:01), 13.Holly Ahern, 14.Katie Woulfe, 15.Shauna Quinlivan(1:00), 16.Eabha Collins, 17.Chloe Liston, 18.Aisling Curtain, 19.Shauna Normoyle, 20.Antonia Madigan, 21.Bethan Storin, 22.Kate Foley(0:01), 23.Ciara McAuliffe.
Saturday the 29th came around quickly and the team met that morning in Newcastlewest to get the bus to Newmarket-on-Fergus where they would meet a strong St.Caimins team from Shannon. The match consisted of two halves with no water breaks due to the new covid guidelines. At half time the girls were behind on the scoreboard, but still kept fighting throughout the second half, but it sadly wasn't enough to pull through. Thanks to all involved in helping the girls along the way.
