U17 Soccer

SMI v Killorglin (ISK)

By Ethan Lynch

The match started at 10:30am. SMI were down 1-0 after 20 minutes. Just before half time Cathal Hayes scored, to make it 1-1. After 10 minutes in the second half SMI got a penalty but we missed. But five minutes later Diarmuid Lyons scored an excellent goal into the top corner. There was a minor pitch invasion!

Killoglin equalized from the spot after a debatable and contested decision by the referee, which brought it to extra time. There was nothing scored during the two halves so it went to penalties. In the end SMI won on penalties 4-2. With our keeper Maruis Palen saving two, saving the day.

Well done to the U17 Soccer Team and their coach Mr. Eamon O'Mahoney.
