Sports

Education, like life itself, is about much more than the academic, students need to leave school with a range of knowledge and skills. Our duty is to identify an individual’s strengths and then help foster their passion for various activities be they in the classroom, or the sports field. Participation in sport helps build friendships, teamwork and a sense of camaraderie. Relationships built around mutual interests develop into friendships and memories that endure.

We aim to give our students a love of sport and prepare them for lifelong physical activity. Physical Education is an integral part of our curriculum across all years. Participation in sport helps build friendships, teamwork and a sense of solidarity. Sport builds resilience; it develops commitment and focus on the end game; skills that add to our students’ formation. These are the life-skills which become transferable in the years ahead. Participation in sport has also been shown to improve academic success.

Sport plays an important part in students’ lives and our students have achieved success at county and international level in a wide range of sporting activities throughout the years. We field numerous teams in each of our sports disciplines throughout the school year and compete in Limerick/Munster leagues and cups.
